IA Summit Day One Recap

For those who are not familiar with the IA Summit it is one of the best organized events for anyone interested in Information Architecture, User Experience, or other related professions. The conversations in the hall alone are well worth the expense. 

This year's conference was held in sunny San Diego and featured some of the best talks that I have heard in five years of attendance. Starting with an exceptional keynote by Irene Au the rest of the day offered a dizzying selection of presentations from both seasoned presenters and first timers.

World IA Day Ann Arbor Recap

Eventually I may get around to writing some longer form thoughts on another excellent World IA Day. I would like to thank all the organizers, presenters, and volunteers that put together an event that spanned 24 cities and made me wish I had my own personal TARDIS so I could attend each one. In the meantime here are my notes.

Form Follows Forces

If you are like me you had never heard of Horsey Horseless before World IA Day. A strange hybrid created during the awkward transition from buggy to automobile it is a failure at both.

In showing how the information revolution has followed a faster paced track of the industrial revolution Dan Klyn and Abby Covert did an excellent job of framing the problems facing the community.
